Funeral services took place Feb. 6 for Carl Raparelli, 85, of Little Egg Harbor. He passed away peacefully Feb. 2 at Galloway Health Center, Galloway Township. Born at home in Union City to Domenica and Dario Raparelli, Carl received his education in West New York. He was a well-respected leader as a teacher, principal, and superintendent in the West New York school district for 39 years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at Boston University and his Master’s Degree at Seton Hall University, in South Orange. He played football in high school and college, and coached football at Memorial High School and St. Joseph’s in West New York. He served his country with honors as a major in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired to Mystic Shores, in Little Egg Harbor, in 1989, where he was very active in his community. He enjoyed golf and bowling, never missed watching a major league football or baseball game, and was an avid reader of American history. Carl is survived by his wife of 25 years, Judi. He leaves behind his only daughter, Jayne (husband, Mike) and granddaughter, Brittany (husband, Trever). He is also survived by his wife’s son, John, and daughter, Dina (husband, David) and six grandchildren, Bryan, John, Jillian, Heather, Lita, and Rose. Services arranged by the Maxwell Funeral Home, Little Egg Harbor.
