BAYONNE – The Bayonne Bridge will be closed this Saturday night, April 26. The bridge will close at midnight Saturday and reopen at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey advised that it will be issuing a travel advisory and be working with New Jersey and New York traffic management centers to display the closure on their message boards.

The authority said they would also announce the closure on their portable signs.

The structure is being closed intermittently over the next two years while work is performed to raise its roadway.

It is indeed a wonderful idea to showcase the engineering project of one of Bayonne's students but what good is it if you do not state WHO DID THE PROJECT OF THE BAYONNE BRIDGE, USING 300 POPCYCLE STICKS???

That student, as well as his school needs to be given the credit and recognition. I am sure that project took time to do!!
