WEEHAWKEN – Mayor Richard Turner has announced the beginning of the final phases of the linear park running along the Hudson River waterfront in Weehawken.

Phases III and IV of the park launched just south of the ferry terminal at a projected cost of $2 million, bringing the total cost of the park project to $5 million.

Phase III will create an overlook garden area of approximately 0.6 acres. Features will include a tree-lined waterfront walkway with seating areas, game and picnic tables, and a shade structure and plaza space.

A children’s play area of approximately 0.9 acres will comprise Phase IV of the park. Included will be separate play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12.
