It is our pleasure to bring our residents this year’s “Summertime in Secaucus” guide jam-packed with family activities sure to fill your summer days and nights. Take a minute to review the enclosed flyers and find out what’s going on.

After a long hard winter, spring has finally arrived and is making way for summer. Many of you are planning for the warmer weather. Every year we strive to expand programs to bring the very best to the community. This summer we are happy to present events that are sure to please every age group. Make a splash at the Municipal Pool complex this summer. It will be open Memorial Day weekend with daily hours starting on June 21. Please note that the swim center is now open to Secaucus residents and their guests only. A new Pirate Ship water feature has been added to the kiddie pool for hours of swashbuckler fun. Why not join the swim club and bring the family out for a good time including the July 4 fireworks, Pirate and Carnival night or relax with friends during the annual wine tasting at the pool. Rates are set to be affordable for the whole family.

Summer camp is another great way to keep our youth busy this summer. Camp trips include visits to the Bronx Zoo, Keansburg Water Park, Jenkinson’s Pier, iPlay America Arcade, Liberty Basketball at Madison Square Garden and so much more! Pick and choose or do it all! There is Junior Day Camp for ages 5-6, Summer Day Camp for ages 7-12 and Inclusion Camp. If you still have free time get in on the fun at Arts & Crafts every day in one of our new playgrounds, sign up for summer sports or join Showstoppers for the entertainer in your child! The Tot and the teen Center is open Monday through Saturday all year.

Are you a movie buff? How about catching a free movie in Buchmuller Park every Tuesday night all summer long? Saturday, May 10 kicks off the movie series with a Drive-In showing of the classic “Wizard of Oz” at 8:30 pm in the Recreation Center Parking lot. This is the only feature with a small $5 fee per carload. Come on out and enjoy the nostalgia of an old fashioned drive-in movie. Proceeds go to the Secaucus Emergency Fund to benefit less fortunate families in town. Other popular viewings are Frozen, the Nut Job, Legos, and Monsters University. Check the brochure for listings.

Check out all the new talent we’ve added to the Summer Concert Series in the Park schedule designed to satisfy all! From our young talent in Showstoppers, to the Cameo’s Oldies, we’ve got it all, including Eaglemania, Neil and the Diamonds, British Invasion, the Blushing Brides tribute to the Rolling Stones, Music of Chicago, Michael Jackson and Bobby Messano, Blues Hall of Famer, and more. Don’t miss the teen concert, Athena – a Lady Gaga tribute show on National Night Out, Aug. 5.

Looking to get back to nature? How about a quiet walk along one of our nature trails or book an afternoon pontoon cruise with Hackensack Riverkeeper. Come out and enjoy Secaucus with all its natural beauty.

Check the monthly calendars for popular season events when the community again comes together for the annual Street Fair, Mini-Fair and Book Sale at the Public Library and a tasteful night on the town for Restaurant Night in the plaza.

Why go anywhere else this year with all the fun, and exciting events we have going on right here. We look forward to seeing each of you at all of our activities.
