BAYONNE – California Products Corporation of Andover, Mass., has announced the acquisition of certain assets of The Muralo Paint Company, including Muralo Paints of Bayonne, according to an online report.

Founded in 1894 and headquartered in the city, Muralo Paints manufactures paints and coatings sold via retailers in more than 20 states.

The deal includes specific Muralo and Graham brands and product lines, including Spackle and Adhesium, Marketwired reported.

The acquisition of the Bayonne company’s paint brands provides California Paints with opportunities for growing its brands and product lines, according to industry experts.

"This acquisition provides an opportunity to leverage our skilled workforce and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility," California Products' Chairman and CEO Peter Longo said. "This transaction offers a strategic fit that will add complementary products, brands, and geographies."

Muralo executives, including Muralo Company President & CEO Jim Norton, will be joining the California Products team in the areas of management, sales, customer service, and distribution.

"I am pleased to be joining an organization whose commitment to quality, service and customers mirrors my 40-plus years in business," Norton said. “I look forward to the continued support of our existing customer base, while adding the well-recognized values of the California Paints offering."

California Products is a manufacturer of California Paints and Storm System architectural coatings.
