JERSEY CITY -- The shooting of a man in Jersey City Heights on Tuesday may be ruled a homicide, according to several sources familiar with the investigation.

The man was fatally shot in the back of his head while seated in a Cadillac near Palisades Avenue near Waverly Street at some point prior to 1 p.m.

All doors to the car were locked except the rear right passenger door, suggesting that the assailant exited that way. Investigators are looking at the exit wound to determine the angle of shot.

The victim, according to police sources, allegedly had a history of involvement with drug and police. – By Al Sullivan
