The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey filed a motion in federal court this week to dismiss a suit brought against it by the Jersey City.

Earlier this year, Jersey City filed suit claiming the Port Authority owes the city as much as $400 million in unpaid taxes, a matter the Port Authority disputes.

The motion also asks that the city pay for the Port Authority’s legal expenses in regards to its defense in the suit.

Mayor Steven Fulop pushed to get the Port Authority to pay up on taxes for a variety of properties, he said taxes are owed on.
