Local community members are invited to join Metropolitan Family Health Network (MFHN) physicians, caregivers, and administrative staff, as well as elected officials and representatives from various local organizations and businesses for the annual celebration of National Health Center Week. The three-day event runs from Wednesday, Aug. 13 through Friday, Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include free health and dental screenings, back-to-school immunizations, games, music, and giveaways. Attendees can also find information on health care, health insurance, and local social services.

The Wednesday and Thursday events will take place at 935 Garfield Ave., Jersey City, at the Garfield Avenue Light Rail stop. The Friday events are scheduled for Metropolitan Family Health Network’s health center at 5300 Bergenline Ave. in West New York.

The kick-off ceremony will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. There will also be a blood drive that day.

Metropolitan Family Health Network (MFHN) is a federally qualified, community health care center that provides a comprehensive roster of ambulatory health care services. The non-profit organization, which was incorporated in 2006, is dedicated to making high-quality, affordable health care accessible to all of the residents of Hudson County, particularly residents of underserved communities. MFHN accepts most health care insurance as well as Medicare and Medicaid, and has a sliding-fee scale for patients who do not have insurance.
