Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise (center) visited with young people working in the Hudson County Summer Youth Employment Partnership (SYEP) this week as the program wrapped up its 11th year of service to the community. HC SYEP is a partnership between Hudson County government and the local business community to create employment opportunities for youth 16-21. 163 youth workers from across Hudson County participated this year. Zuri Hart (left) is a 21 year old student at Montclair State and Jersey City resident. She began at 16 as a youth worker placed by HC SYEP and eventually was hired by Hudson County to serve as a program counselor. Katiria Luna (right) also from Jersey City, is a 16 year-old student at Dickinson High School in her first year with HC SYEP, she is working for the Hudson County Office of Cultural Affairs & Tourism Development.
