The Weehawken High School Academic Awards Convocation and National Honor Society Induction Ceremony took place this month at Schuetzen Park in North Bergen. Two hundred guests enjoyed dinner and live music by the Weehawken Jazz Band in celebration of Weehawken’s academically talented students.

Dr. Patrick J. Gallo, a class of ’55 alumnus, was inducted into the Academic Hall of Fame. Gallo is a history professor at New York University. Commemorative pewter plates and plaques were awarded to each participant by Mayor Richard Turner, Superintendent Kevin McLellan, Board of Education President Richard Barsa, and Principal Dr. Anthony Olivieri.
