Real Chance for Reform

Dear Editor:

From late February through mid-May, I, and many others, worked tirelessly on Beth Mason’s campaign for mayor. Working with Beth and the rest of the Mason Team for One Hoboken was an experience I’ll cherish for a long time. Although we ultimately fell short, about 2,500 Hoboken citizens supported Beth and her vision. I write today to ask that each and every one of those 2,500 voters now throw their support behind Dawn Zimmer, the candidate who, by far, more closely shares Beth’s vision for this city.

Beth Mason wanted to finally bring reform to Hoboken. Dawn Zimmer is the only remaining candidate with the same aspiration. Dawn and the whole Zimmer team have handled their success in the May 12 election with class and dignity, wanting nothing more than to bring people together. Rather than having an attitude of “the train has left the station,” Dawn and her team have been very receptive to Mason supporters and volunteers. When Beth Mason endorsed Dawn for mayor, along with the rest of her One Hoboken endorsement (Bhalla, Morales and Addeo), it gave Mason volunteers a chance to join the Zimmer team and work together for the hometown we dream of and deserve.

Dawn Zimmer gives us a real chance for reform. She is light years ahead on issues like green technology, smart development that serves the city (not the other way around), open government and park space. Most importantly, she is the only candidate with a realistic plan to lower taxes and bring the town back into the black. Her wonderful website, www.zimmerforchange.com, contains every detail. I implore all of Beth’s supporters to take these next few days to look at the facts. If you do, I am confident you will see that the only logical choice for mayor is Dawn Zimmer.

June 9 will be remembered as an important day in this city’s history. Whatever the outcome, it will forge a path that will not likely be changed for many years to come. Editor, I sincerely urge all of Hoboken to take the path less trodden in this town. Shock the whole state: elect a reform candidate in Hudson County. Vote Dawn Zimmer for mayor, and keep the spirit of One Hoboken alive.

Daniel Bryan
