There was lots of anxious waiting around City Hall today after a press conference was scheduled for Mayor David Roberts to appoint Captain Anthony Falco as the city's new police chief, but it was stalled for a few hours. The outgoing mayor and the state had a difference of opinion on whom to appoint. The state favored promoting Acting Chief Robert Lisa.

But by the end of today, Falco was sworn in. Falco is a department veteran who also has dabbled in film production.

In addition, Lisa was appointed to the position of deputy chief.
