After stories were published on the Reporter site Friday morning, then on Hoboken Now a few hours later, about Hoboken mayoral candidate Beth Mason being approached and turning down money from developer and FBI cooperating witness Solomon Dwek, NBC New York ran what they billed as an "exclusive" interview with Mason on its 11 o'clock broadcast Friday night. Mason told the news channel that she was never really clear on what Dwek wanted, but that she would not give in to it.

Meanwhile, several people have been planning a protest for this morning at 11 a.m. at Mayor Peter Cammarano's house in uptown Hoboken, urging him to resign. Should the police allow the rally to go on (it is a tree-lined residential street), the Reporter will post photos and video directly afterward, so check back here.

You mean the "independent" Hoboken Police Department? Aren't they one of the millstones used to grind dissenting voices into powder? We know where they stand, and it isn't with the people. Time to dismantle HPD to rid it of politically charged law enforcement. Time to revamp all the city institutions. Clean it all out now. The time is at hand.
