As reported below, Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer's bike was swiped last night while she was in a controversial council meeting.

Pictured is the lock that remains on the bike rack near City Hall.

If you took the bike, just call the police at (201) 420-2100 and they'll happily accept it back.

It was Fetterman who was seeing a symbolic message here, he was not saying that Dawn Z was. I think he would like her to see the message as well though.

df, I don't think she just 'sees' the bike as stolen. It's not 'symbolic'. It *was* stolen. It's gone. And despite the bizarro use of absentees, she didn't see the June election as stolen. So perhaps her grasp of symbolism is not a concern.

As for her council seat, that represents a contract with the voters (who elected her). While she may seek another office, she should not bargain away the seat the voters put her in because of a transparent parlimentary ploy.

People have absolutely no respect in Hoboken. The Mayor's bike? I bet some of the goombahs are laughing it up right about now. Are we in 4th grade?

There is a huge amount of symbolism here. After warning the council NOT to vote for her as interim mayor (So that she can have her cake and eat it, too (keep her council seat in case she loses her bid for mayor in November), will she also see the mayor's seat stolen from her because voters see her as too greedy?
