I was reading an article in “The Jersey Journal,” which was very disturbing to me as a minister, about the hate groups that came from Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas.
They protested in front of Dickinson High School in Jersey City and sent hate messages against the gays and also words like ‘You’re going to hell,’ ‘God is your enemy,’ ‘You will eat your babies,’ ‘God hates the Jews,’ ‘God hates fags,’ (which was on one of the t-shirts of the hate group)! Also, the hate group has called military deaths God’s way of punishing the U.S. for allowing gays into the armed forces.
I believe as Christians, we should not bring hatred messages into our churches, communities and schools. Instead, we should bring words of strength, love, encouragement, guidance, and peace to our communities. So please remember, love, not hate, because both male and female are made in the image of God.
