Every theatre season, the Hudson County-based Park Players depend on community involvement – from the actors to those who work on the lighting to the audience members who fill the seats.
To show their appreciation, Chairperson Joseph D. Fiorenza Conklin and Co-Chairperson John M. Fiorenza Conlin hosted the third annual Mikkie Awards last month at a local restaurant.
Throughout the 2008/2009 theatre season, audience members voted in a variety of categories. Their votes led to nominations. The winners were chosen at the formal awards dinner held at Antonia’s on the Park.
The Park Players are based in Union City but perform around the county.
All of the productions performed in the 2008/2009 seasons were included in the awards. These were i>Victor Victoria, Little Shop of Horrors, Nunsensations, and Steel Magnolias. Cast members from all four productions performed selections from their shows.
