ALL TOWNS -- As of this writing, Hudson County residents who have Cablevision can no longer get the HGTV or Food Network stations due to a contract dispute.

As the Associated Press puts it, "The spat over a fee increase between Cablevision Systems Corp. and Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. heated up Sunday with cable TV viewers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut still caught in the crossfire. In a statement Sunday, Cablevision said Scripps is demanding a 200 percent fee increase, which would drive up customer rates if accepted...In a separate statement Sunday, Scripps said it continues 'to engage Cablevision in meaningful discussions so that we can right this situation and get Food Network and HGTV back on the Cablevision channel lineup.' ''

What do you think? Are you going to switch providers, or doesn't it matter to you?

Nobody is talking about censorship. Many media outlets in the west show nothing but fox news. But if Fox wants to extort high price for propaganda, then we shouldn't have to pay for it in higher cable costs. Lies are not worth my paying a higher bill. As far as food net work and fox, perhaps Cablevision should make them a preimum offering. Let those who want them pay for them and leave those of us who don't want them free of paying the cost

I think Cablevision should negotiate with them in good faith instead of pulling my channels. I still get the same bill now w/ 2 less channels. Am i going to get a rebate? I doubt it. So Cablevision should figure out a way to cut their expenses and not pass along already rediculous costs to consumers. Its absurd what I pay for TV each month. I don't even have the Gold package. I absolutely hate them.

All cable tv companies are bad. But compared to Comcast and several others, Cablevision is one of the best. The fact that it refuses to be blackmailed into paying outragious charges to foodnet work and Fox, shows they know their viewers better than viewers know themselves. The viewers complain now, but how much more will they complain when cablevision has to pass on the increased charges because of the blackmail

I probably dissagree with most of Fox News opinions but don't want them kicked off the cable listing. Thats a slippery slope when media is censured.

I do wish Cablevision would do something about the volume spike when they run commercials. I purposely boycott any establishment using that tactic. It's not an accident that the volume goes up during commercial time.

Just when I thought we would get rid of Fox, we get rid of food instead. What a rip off. I can live without fox news but food network, never

I loathe Cablevision with every fiber of my being. They overcharge for TV service and ignore customer complaints. I would call them up and complain about Scripps negotiations and ask Cablevision to eat the fee increase instead of passing it on to us but the hold time is about 2 hrs to speak to anyone at Cablevision. Its the most poorly run monopoly ever. There is no competition whatsoever. Anyone who "competes" charges exactly the same for similar crappy service. Its called collusion. Again I'd say write your senators but nothing will ever happen to change it. If I loose any more channels though I'm dropping them. Who needs 100 spanish channels anyways. I shouldn't have to pay for that programming.

switch providers?

We can't switch Cable providers because of Cablevision's exclusive municipal contracts.

We could switch to Fios or Dish if you want to deal with the hassle.
