To the Editor:

If 70 percent of what Wal-Mart sells is foreign made, how can raising the bridge be in our best interest?

Almost every major store you shop in here in Bayonne or throughout our country has practically the same ratio of foreign made goods or products.

Does China or Japan have 70 percent of what we make in their stores? If so, then raising the bridge makes sense. Will cargo ships still grace our ports if we don't raise the bridge? Of course they will. Can the MOT here in Bayonne or Global Terminal accommodate these larger, foreign made ships? Of course they can. Interestingly, even the ships are foreign made.
